PROCESS DESCRIPTION
In Section Building, entire ship sections are constructed from pre-fabricated components and cut profiles. Gas fusion welding or typical arc welding processes such as MIG/MAG welding are used for this purpose. However, laser welding or laser hybrid welding has also been used more frequently for some time now.
Inaccuracies in fit, caused for example by warping, are corrected with flame straightening. Additional cutting work often involves the use of flame cutting.
